Special Guidelines for the Parents

  • In order to ensure all that is best in education for your child, better understanding and co-operation between parents and school authorities is a must. We earnestly recommend that parents/ guardians must check the school diary of their children everyday and ensure that lessons and homework assigned for the next day is carried out promptly and diligently by the child.
  • Children should be encouraged to cultivate neatness habitually and any slovenliness should be firmly disapproved of. Remarks entered in the school diary should be read and countersigned/ dated regularly.
  • If you feel that your child does not make the desired progress, the Principal should be contacted.
  • Parents/guardians or visitors should not enter the classrooms during class hours.
  • Criticism or speaking ill of a teacher, the school or classmates (in the presence of your wards), creating cooked up stories or incidents, speaking lies for obtaining leave for your wards, etc. should be strictly avoided. Such designs might cause the student to lose his/ her respect for the teachers, pride for the school and love for peers with the consequent failure to learn from them and may grow demoralized. However if you have reasonable grievance or legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal in person and sort out the issues legitimately.
  • As your child grows in age, guide him/ her to become an independent and useful member of the family and the Country at large. Encourage them to pursue self help work in the family alongside study. The children should be taught to keep their room, study materials and clothings neat and tidy, make their own beds, polish their shoes, carry their own bags etc. The cultivation of such habits early in life inculcates in them the value of dignity of work, a fundamental personal virtue necessary for a successful career in life.
  • As the medium of instruction in the school is English, children should be helped to follow their classes diligently by a certain extent of regular English conversation at home, encouraging them listening to daily English news bulletins and reading English news papers etc.
  • Fees and other dues to the school should be paid strictly on time and receipt should be kept safely for any future reference.
  • Parents must bring the fee card of their ward and present before the class teacher/ person authorized by the Principal whenever they come for the parent - teacher meetings (PTMs).
  • The Principal may issue an order or request parents/ guardians to withdraw their ward in case they do not fit in with the regulations of the school or not capable of any improvement or if the parents/ guardians themselves do not co-operate with the school authority.
  • Allotting sections/ houses and shuffling, as and when required, is fully at the discretion of the Principal and no request for a particular section/ house or changing of house/ section will be entertained.
  • Transportation of children is the exclusive responsibility of the parents. The school holds no responsibility for it and shall not be entertaining any complaint in this regard.
  • We earnestly reiterate that Parents/Guardians must go through the school diary on a daily basis and affix their signatures with date against the remarks/comments made by the Principal/Teachers as a token of having seen by them.
  • All communications to the school should be addressed to the Principal.
  • Periodical Reports and the Report Book will keep parents/ guardians informed of the progress of their wards. These reports are to be signed and returned on time as given in the school diary.
  • Parents/Guardians are requested to co-operate with the school authorities :
    – by encouraging their wards to be regular and punctual in attendance.
    – by not engaging private tutors without consulting the school authorities. It is the policy of the school to discourage private tuitions since we expect every student should be able to progress in his/her work as a result of our own hardwork and guidance . If there is real need of a private tutor, arrange for one, after getting the permission from the Principal. Normally the class teachers would not be allowed to take tuition for his or her own students.
    – by overseeing that their wards are diligent at their home work and lessons.
    – by insisting on neatness and cleanliness in keeping the text books, exercise books etc. and in personal appearance.
    – by attending regularly parent teacher meetings (PTMs) organized by the school authorities.
  • The parents and guardians are not allowed to walk into the class rooms or interview teachers during school hours as it would interfere with the school discipline. But they are strongly recommended to meet the teachers on days assigned for Parents to find out the progress of their children.
  • Withholding your child from classes for mere social functions is not recommended because it retards the child’s progress in school and minimises respect for regular hard work with consequent failures to progress in the studies.
